HyperTeach@SADC
Training Course in Imaging Spectroscopy
&
Hyperspectral Research
Strategy Session
Imaging spectroscopy – (IS) is becoming a major remote sensing
technique, not only internationally but also for the South African
technology and application developers. Since an imaging
spectrometer samples hundreds of narrow contiguous spectral bands
throughout the visible to short wave infrared electromagnetic
spectrum, it provides relevant input to numerous applications.
HyperTeach@SADC is a 4-day training course
organized by the Flemish Institute for Technological Research
(VITO), SunSpace, the University of Stellenbosch, and the Council
for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) funded by the United
Nations' Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
and EWI to theoretically and practically introduce researchers and
policy-makers to the emerging field of Imaging Spectroscopy.
HyperTeach@SADC will be followed by a
one-day workshop and strategy session which will serve to highlight
current SADC hyperspectral research, while also providing an
opportunity for stakeholders (e.g., private public, research, educational,
etc.) to discuss the hyperspectral remote sensing strategy.
